Open Community Report

Write for us

Open Community Report welcomes clear, original pitches about how people take part, work together and make shared spaces or projects function. Send proposals through the Contact page; an idea is not a promise of publication.

What we welcome

We consider explanatory pieces, thoughtful comparisons, community histories, grounded accounts of group practices and useful guides to planning participation. A strong proposal has a defined subject and a clear reason readers beyond one group might care.

What to include

Tell us the working title or central question, the main point you want readers to take away, the approach you would use and any relevant experience or sources. Flag limitations, contested details and material that would need checking. Keep the pitch focused; a complete draft is not needed for an initial proposal.

Originality and care

Submissions should be original, accurate and respectful of the people or groups discussed. Do not disclose private information without permission, present one account as everyone’s experience or promise outcomes a piece cannot support. We may edit accepted work for clarity and length.

Where to send it

Send your proposal through the Contact page and choose the editorial question or contribution option. Include a way for us to reply. Please do not send confidential or sensitive personal information.
